Kymin was founded in Monmouth in 1993 and incorporated as Kymin Financial Services Ltd on 1 March – St David’s Day.
The name Kymin is taken from the hill that overlooks the town of Monmouth, the old county town of Monmouthshire. The Kymin is a landmark owned by the National Trust, visible from miles around.

Kymin was formed with the aim of providing a high standard of service and professional advice and regularly works with clients’ accountants and solicitors. We have retained of clients over the years by maintaining a friendly but professional relationship. For example, we have avoided the use of telephone calls-handling systems, as we believe that our clients prefer to speak to a human being rather than a machine.
Kymin is a totally independent company, directly authorised and regulated by the Financial Services Authority. We are not part of any insurance company, bank or building society, nor do we have a special relationship with any of them. Kymin is not a member of a network, so we are not restricted to a panel of approved products, as some advisers are. We act only on your behalf.
Put simply, our job is to solve problems from the client’s point of view and come up with solutions that reflect their needs and incorporate their attitude to risk. We work with clients over a long period of time, building our knowledge of each individual person’s situation and their trust in us.
To assist us in our research from the best that is available throughout the industry, we have the latest state of the art technology. Our advice is constantly monitored within the company, by our compliance advisers and is overseen by the Financial Services Authority.
Kymin also advises many Companies about their Pension Schemes and other Employee Benefits. This is a growing part of our business partly because each employee is treated by us as an individual client, not just as a member of a scheme.
Kymin always seeks to support local organisations and in Newport we have adopted The St David’s Foundation Hospice Care as our chosen charity.
